WhileVHILS IN RESIDENCE
REVEAL: APRIL 15th 2011, 7:00 - 11:00
The BLDG is pleased to announce the arrival and residency of urban contemporary art phenom Alexandre Farto, aka Vhils, at the BLDG Vhils will encourage visitors to engage and experience his creative processes and to learn the visual language of his art. A process reveal demonstrating the intricacy and sequence of the artist’s technique will be open for public viewing on April 15, 7:00-11:00 PM at the BLDG, 30 West Pike Street, Covington, Kentucky.
O fundador do BLDG, Mike Amann, escreve isto sobre Vhils:
Nascido em Portugal e influenciado pela dicotomia do país, da política e do trabalho, após a Revolução de 1974, observa Vhils, "Eu estava profundamente afectado pelo contraste criado entre os murais revolucionários decadentes, pelos seus ideais, e o apelo glamouroso da publicidade .... a poética da decadência que daí resulta deixou uma influência duradoura sobre mim."
